FCS Orchestra earns TOP 5 national recognition

The Alpharetta High School Symphony Strings has been invited to perform at the prestigious 2018 Midwest Clinic on Wednesday, December 19 at 10:30 a.m. CST.

In its 72nd year, this most prestigious International Band and Orchestra Conference will take place December 19-22 in Chicago, Illinois. Each year only four or five high school orchestras are selected to perform nationwide. Dr. Laux and the students of the AHS Symphony Strings are truly honored to receive this invitation! This performance will mark the AHS orchestra program’s third appearance, having previously performed in 2006 and 2012 under the previous direction of Mr. Sheldon Fisher.

The Midwest Clinic -International Band, Orchestra and Music Conference welcomes more than 17,000 attendees from all 50 states and more than 30 countries. As the second largest music conference in the world, second only to the Mozart Festival in Salzburg, Alpharetta HS is proud to represent Fulton County Schools in this most prestigious honor next December in Chicago, IL.
